Process Stability

Coolant and Debris Removal FAQ

Coolant and debris removal are sometimes treated as secondary details, but they often decide whether a cut is stable.

Why is coolant important?

Coolant helps remove heat and debris. Without proper flushing, chips can re-enter the cut, scratch the surface, or accelerate wire wear.

Does every material need the same coolant setup?

No. Material hardness, debris type, cut depth, machine enclosure, wire speed, and surface target all influence coolant requirements.

What are signs of poor debris removal?

Rising cutting force, unstable sound, scratches, heat discoloration, poor surface quality, and faster wire wear can all indicate flushing problems.
