What is a diamond wire loop?
A diamond wire loop is a closed cutting wire with diamond abrasive fixed to the wire surface. It runs continuously over guide wheels and removes material by abrasive contact rather than by a rigid blade edge.
Why is the loop format useful?
The loop format allows one-way motion. This avoids repeated acceleration and reversal, which can improve cutting stability when guide wheels, tension, feed, coolant, and the loop joint are well controlled.
Is a diamond wire loop only a consumable?
No. It behaves as part of the machine system. Wire diameter, diamond exposure, joint quality, wheel diameter, tension control, and fixture rigidity all influence the final cutting result.
