Endless Electroplated Diamond Wire FAQ

Electroplated diamond wire must combine abrasive sharpness with enough mechanical strength for repeated loop motion.

How is electroplated diamond wire structured?

A typical structure includes a steel wire substrate, a plated metal bond layer, and diamond grit. The bond must hold the abrasive while leaving enough diamond exposure for cutting.

Why is coating uniformity important?

Uneven coating can create unstable cutting, local scratches, premature abrasive loss, or excessive friction. For loop wire, the problem repeats every time the same area passes through the cut.

Can electroplated wire be used on hard brittle materials?

Yes. Literature themes repeatedly discuss silicon, sapphire, silicon carbide, marble, ceramic, graphite, and other brittle materials, but each material requires its own parameter window.
