Marble and Stone Cutting FAQ

Marble studies are useful because they show how feed, speed, and tension influence surface roughness.

What parameter can dominate marble roughness?

Within one reported test range, feed rate had the strongest influence on roughness, followed by wire speed and tension.

Why does stone cutting need debris control?

Stone debris can accumulate in the cut, increase scratching, and reduce wire life if flushing and coolant access are not adequate.

Can stone cutting settings be copied from a paper?

No. The stone type, block size, wire, machine, coolant, and surface target must be considered before choosing production settings.
